someone seeking to enhance your personal defense capabilities, this course will provide you with essential skills to excel in real-world shooting scenarios as well as a competitive environment.
Course Cost: $225
Course Duration: 4-6 hours
Ammunition Required: 250 - 300 rounds (avail for purchase if needed)
Course Format: The course consists of a safety and fundamental debrief followed by practical
range exercises. Debrief will cover essential theory, safety procedures, and tactics, while the
majority of the training will take place on the range, allowing participants to apply what they
have learned in realistic challenging scenarios.
Course Objectives:
Dynamic Movement: Participants will learn the importance of movement in defensive shooting scenarios. They will practice various techniques for moving tactically, including lateral, diagonal, and retreating movements. Participants will apply dynamic movement
techniques while engaging targets downrange.
Shooting on the Move: Students will acquire the skills needed to engage targets accurately while in motion. This includes mastering the fundamentals of shooting while walking, jogging, and using cover and concealment effectively.

Multiple Target Transitioning: Participants will be trained to engage multiple threats efficiently. The course will cover target acquisition, target priority, sight alignment, accuracy and trigger control when transitioning between multiple targets.
Use of Cover vs Concealment: Students will understand the critical role of cover versus concealment in defensive shooting. They will learn how to utilize cover effectively while engaging targets and minimizing exposure to potential threats.
Reload Techniques: Mastering the art of reloading is crucial for maintaining readiness in a firearm engagement. The course will cover various reloading techniques, including speed reloads and tactical reloads under timed conditions. This will ensure participants
can maintain their handgun in battery while in dynamic situations.
Dynamic Malfunction Clearing: Students will be taught how to identify and clear common handgun malfunctions quickly and safely under stress while operating a drill. These are active malfunction clearing drills during a course of fire forcing a student to get the weapon operating again while maintaining the course of fire.
Rapid Fire Drills: Intensive live-fire drills will be conducted to improve participants' ability to deliver rapid and controlled shots on target, with a focus on maintaining accuracy even during rapid fire sequences.
Recoil Management Techniques: Instruction on specialized recoil management techniques, such as "trigger reset" "controlled pairs," and "hammer-pair /double tap drills," to enhance follow-up shot accuracy and speed.
Stress Inoculation: Participants will be exposed to controlled stressors and pressured situations during drills to simulate real-world scenarios, forcing them to make rapid, accurate decisions under duress.
Time-Pressure Drills: Live-fire exercises with strict time constraints to instill a sense of urgency, requiring participants to balance speed and precision.
Immediate Threat Assessment: After engaging a threat and ensuring it is neutralized, the shooter must immediately assess the condition of the initial threat. This includes observing the body language and any potential signs of continued threat (e.g., a weapon still in hand) to confirm that the threat has been effectively neutralized.
Scan for Additional Threats: Once the immediate threat is assessed, the shooter should begin scanning the area for additional threats. This involves a systematic visual sweep of the environment, focusing on potential hiding spots, cover, and areas where threats could
emerge. This scan should be thorough and cover a full 360-degree field of view.
