Course Format: This intermediate level 1 handgun course provides practical, hands-on training at a supervised outdoor shooting range. The course is led by experienced and certified firearms instructors who prioritize safety and individualized instruction. This course will begin with a safety brief and short introduction of topics covered followed by on range shooting. The majority of the course duration is spent on the range shooting.
Course Objectives: By the end of this intermediate level 1 handgun course, participants will be educated on:
Safety Emphasis: Safety remains our utmost priority. You will reinforce your understanding of firearm safety rules and develop a heightened awareness of safe gun handling techniques throughout the course.
Advanced Marksmanship: Participants will refresh their shooting fundamentals, including grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control. Through live-fire exercises and expert guidance, students will learn to consistently deliver accurate shots under various conditions and distances. This course provides a comfortable progression of testing a student’s accuracy skillset to help them make quicker more accurate shots on target, at close range and at further distances.
Speed and Efficiency: Efficiency is the key to success in dynamic situations. This course focuses on improving draw times, target acquisition, and transitioning between multiple targets quickly and accurately. Students will practice drills that enhance their speed while maintaining precision.
Reloading Proficiency: Mastering the art of reloading is crucial for maintaining readiness in a firearm engagement. Participants will learn intermediate level techniques for both tactical and emergency reloads, ensuring they can quickly and confidently reload their firearm in a safe and efficient manner.

Target Transitions: Smooth and rapid target transitions are crucial in real-life scenarios. This course will teach you how to move your firearm seamlessly from one target to another, honing your ability to assess threats and respond effectively.
Quick Follow-up Shots: Accuracy in rapid succession is vital. You will develop the skill to deliver accurate follow-up shots rapidly, maintaining control and precision during high-stress situations.
Accuracy Enhancement: Precision shooting is the foundation of effective marksmanship. Our instructors will guide you in refining your sight alignment, trigger control, and breath control, enabling you to consistently hit your mark.
Movement and Shooting on the Move: Real-life encounters often require shooters to move while engaging targets. You will learn safe and effective techniques for shooting on the move, including forward, lateral, and diagonal movement, ensuring you maintain cover and stay on target.
Holster Skills: Proper holstering and drawing are essential components of efficient handgun use. Our instructors will help you refine your holster skills, ensuring you can access your firearm quickly and safely.

Equipment Requirements: Participants are expected to bring the following items to the course:
A Personal Handgun (Gun Rental is available for a $25 additional cost if you do not have
one).
Appropriate eye and ear protection.
Ammunition: Approx. 175 - 200 rounds (Ammo available for purchase at range, ammo MUST be purchase at range when using a range rental handgun).
Closed toed shoes.
Water (avail for purchase)
Holster and mag carriers for your firearm.
Sturdy belt for holster.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Prerequisites: Participants must have completed our beginner handgun course or an equivalent basic handgun safety course and be proficient in firearm handling and safety protocols.
